Ascent Trip ReportAgain no view, but hiked to a nearby cabin and there was a good view from there. The cabin was a little shabby and musty but it served its purpose for us to rest and eat lunch. I even took a little cat nap. Then we were off to our final destination for the day, a camping site off the trail. The hike there was interesting, we were all pretty quiet on our trip but all thinking about the same thing. This sucks! The trail hadn't been travelled that often if at all in a while. It was covered with moss covered rocks and branches and roots. The recent rainfall also added to this hike making the trail slippery and hard to manuever. There were many fallen trees on the trail that we had to climb over, under or go around. There was also lots of poison ivy off the trial. I was very careful to avoid any contact with it.
Once we got to the campsite we scoped out our spots and put up our tents. It rained for about 15 minutes that day with perfect timing, just when I about finished putting up my tent and whne Michale and Keving were putting their tents up. Michael st up a nice lving room/kitchen/dining area using a cool tarp. He also made some curry chicken and Kevin made some minestrone soup. Yum, yum, delic!!
We we all pretty beat and we went to our sleeping quarters and called it a night. I slept pretty well and was well rested for my next day hiking.
