Ascent Trip Report

TRAINING DAY

After breakfast I left jbl on the phelps trail to the state range trail, under heavy overcast skies, fairly warm. Started spitting when I reached slant rock, it was really wet all the way to the summit. I was completely soaked, felt strong.
The summit was completely closed in with 100 ft visibility and strong winds. I put on my gortex top and descended immediately. The skies started to clear on the way down, full sun once I got back to slant rock. Back to jbl at 14h30 hrs after a 6 1/2 hr day, washed up in the brook.

TOMMORROW'S CLIMBS (the 26th) will be over 5 peaks, 17 km, on the range trail. At the end of the day I would meet a montreal couple with 2 kids (5 & 7), very impressive, they did what I did minus saddleback and lower wolf jaw.

DAY AFTER TOMORROW (the 27th) I'll hike out over yard/big slide/brothers ridge.
