Ascent Trip ReportA day outing with my son's children Marcus, Patrick, Brice and Emilie. They are visiting from Atlanta with their Mom, Celine. This is my 5th time up on Mansfield
We drove to the northside TH on rte #108, just East of Smugglers Notch, and left the TH at 9h45 hours for an uneventful climb ...... Marcus, Patrick and Emilie did the leading while I trailed Brice. We took a break at Taft Lodge to enjoy the moment, lots of people on the trail for a Tuesday.
We arrived the summit ...... The Chin, highest peak of Mt Mansfield and the highest point of Vermont - windy, cool, with limited visibility, we shared the summit with 8-10 other hikers. We had our lunch. I used my Konica camera for the first time.
We descended safely to the TH for an enjoyable day.
