Ascent Trip Report

Got up a 5:15. My bagged breakfast from the motel again was not finished. We drove to the trail head on Route 73 near the Cascade Lakes. There's a parking area on the side of the road. The hike started by waiting down well maintained 4" x 4" PT wood and dirt constructed stairs.

We hiked to the intersection with the trail up to Cascade. After a debate and a tie vote as to which mountain to summit first, a command decision was made to tackle Cascade first. Only .3 miles from the intersection and no view on top. We hit the summit at 8:05 AM. From there back to the intersection then towards Porter. There was more hiking down than I thought there should be. We made it up Porter at 8:45.

Overall it was a relatively easy hike, A good hike to start your 46 on. Again is was busy with a lot of French Canadians. It was also muggy and buggy. They parking area was over filled by the time we got back.

Lunch was at the ADK Cafe. Our 3rd time there that weekend and we had the same waitress every time. I had the most awesome cheese burger I can remember ever having.
