Ascent of South Tripyramid on 2013-06-22

Ascent Type:Successful Summit Attained
Peak:South Tripyramid
    Location:USA-New Hampshire
    Elevation:4080 ft / 1243 m

Ascent Trip Report

The trip to South Tripyramid was much like the trip to Middle Tripyramid, except with less climbing. When we got to the summit, there were no views, just woods. After summitting, we headed for the obstacle of the day, the south slide.

The approach to the slide was tough in its own right, with rocky slabs that required crabwalking at times. But when we got to the top of the slide, the views were amazing. Upon descending it, though, the footing was awful; we kept sliding on the loose gravel surface. But there were some good photo opportunities.

Once we reentered the woods, the trail went from a steep to easy grade and followed old logging roads, crossing a few brooks in the process, to the Livermore Trail, 2.6 miles from the parking area.
