Ascent Trip Report

The Livermore Trail, which we took to the Scaur Ridge Trail, followed dirt roads, passing by a few trailheads in the process. After a fork, the Livermore Trail diverged left, now onto a rougher, more eroded road. We soon reached the lower end of the Mt. Tripyramid Trail, and after a mile and some single-file walking, the upper end of that trail. My friend and I eventually decided against going up the North Slide and headed 0.2 miles up the trail to the Scaur Ridge Trail.

The Scaur Ridge Trail, upon entering the Sandwich Range Wilderness, showed signs of low maintenance; the corridor was narrow at times and there were a few blowdowns. The last few tenths of a mile were steeper, but soon moderated as we merged onto the Pine Bend Brook Trail.

The Pine Bend Brook Trail started out easy and then got rocky and steep, which made for some fun and challenging climbing. After a few tenths of a mile of rough hiking, we abruptly joined the Mt. Tripyramid Trail, and from there it was 20 yds to the wooded summit of North Tripyramid.
