Ascent Trip Report

It was very fitting that on this day, Friday the 13th, we finally made it to the summit. This was our third attempt for Michael and I and it was very satisfying to finally make it. It was a rather easy, uneventful hike with a lot less drama than the last two times. Nobody fell into the water because the river was less daunting to cross. The water level was minimal, the snow was completely gone, thanks to some hot weather in the past week or so. So this trip was what it should have been--easy. Our time was almost half of what the book time is for this hike, so we were booking it. I think all of us had a certain amount of desperation to just get to the peak and not screw around. So we moved deliberately without many breaks.

When we got about 2/10 of mile from Davis Path, we thought we lost the trail and I became a little worried, but as it turned out we were fine. Once I saw the sign to Mt Isolation, I knew we were home free. Once we got to the summit, we saw a group of guys just hanging out. One of them we expected to see because he had told us he was getting his 48th 4K footer.

This was number 40 for me, only 8 more left and counting down!!
