Ascent Trip ReportIt's been pretty rainy all week, but today was a beautiful day to get out. The parking areas were packed when we got there at 10:00 and we ended up 3 parking areas up the road from the TH. As expected, the trail was wet and muddy, luckily the mud wasn't too deep though. We met and passed many people on the trail and Jax (my Golden Retriever) was in Heaven with everyone wanting to pet him and say hello. We made pretty good time up and had a quick snack on the overcrowded summit. It was cool and breezy so we didn't stay long. My friend Dave is like me in that we both like to get the work out of the way first, so we went back down to the junction with the trail to Porter and made the trip over. After getting back to the truck, we stopped by Cascade Lakes for a few minutes to get Jax in the water (which was very cold) and rinsed the mud out of his fur.
This was the 5th time I've done Cascade overall, but only the 1st time this year so it counts as #11 on my personal goal of 52 different mountains this year.
