Ascent Trip Report

The trek that i didn't want to make had finally come to this. I made my way up route 16 to Gorham Nh, i have a map of the white mountain region that doesn't show exactly the best route to the mountain so i was forced to ask for directions in Jefferson. After meeting with a nice lady at the town hall i met with a lady who had once hiked these mountains before she directed me to the back side of the mountain. She directed me to the town of Stark, a small town located near Lancaster. I finally found the dirt road and made my trek into the trail head, it was a LONG time before i found it, I traveled that road for 15 minutes. I wasted no time i started the hike that i dreaded forever. It was 2.2 miles to the unknown pond. This trail was one of the sketchiest trails I've ever been on... the roots where wet the brush was thick the incline was there it was definitely challenging but i finally got to the unknown pond. i took a couple pictures and i was on my way, i quickly did the 1.3 to the junction. i took a quick break and ate something, i knew there was a incline to the peak i didn't waste any time i made it all the way to the top in 2 hrs and 20 mins, i took my pictures and i quickly ran down. this hike was a good one, its hell to find and i wouldn't recommend going the way i did but this was a good hike, it wasn't that had or long but the view wasn't there... they said the view is at the horn... i did just the bluge and the 4K i was looking for. If i could recommend this hike I'd start from which many start at the hatchery and hike my way into the unknown pond and over to the bluge and back to the four thousand footer.
