Ascent Trip Report

After visting Round Mountain and talking to and AMC guide and his friend, we proceeded west to NW back into MASS and ascended Frissell. There are no views on the top of Frissell but there is an ammo box register. There are views just before the summit on the ledge before the actual summit that are pretty nice looking down on to Round Mountain and Bear Mountain.

Then we headed south down the well marked trail (all class 1) to the south shoulder of Frissell where you wind around and back up again and there is a well marked cairn with another ammo box register for the actual state HP of CT. We found a nice ledge where the photo is taken to eat lunch that actually has excellent views although the photo does not give any hint of that.
