Ascent Trip ReportForecast was for showers & thunderstorms in the morning with severe t-storms in the afternoon. So, for a second weekend in a row, I was up at 3 AM and on the trail by 5 AM. I once again defied the weather - I mostly blues skies with some clouds of the friendly variety. But it was hot at the lower elevations. It was over 60 at the base at 5 AM and and over 80 when I got off the trail. Lots of water needed today. Trails were all in great shape and it was a mostly uneventful, albeit beautiful and hot, climb.
I took Liberty Springs to Liberty and then the Ridge trail over to Flume. Took the same way back. I didn't see anyone until my way back from Flume. Then saw lots of folks coming by. I stopped for lunch on Liberty on my way back and had fun watching the clouds come in across the notch, speed up the mountain, and then really speed by going over the summit and the saddle between the Liberty and Flume. It was at the low point of the saddle that I caught sight of the last remnants of some ice.
