Ascent Trip Report

This was my first big hike of the season and I chose to do both Mt. Liberty and Mt. Flume solo. I summitted Liberty first, it was a pretty rocky trail, and then summitted Flume. The trip from Liberty to Flume was pretty rocky too. It was slow going from about 3,800 feet, due to snow still being on the trail. I had my microspikes, but I chose not to use them because the snow and ice was patchy and I would've had to keep taking them on and off. It was more difficult to come down the mountain later. I met some nice people on the summits. The view from Flume was better than Liberty. I was sore for the next four days afterward.
