Ascent Trip ReportDAY #36 ---BRAEMAR CASTLE ---
Hiked all day with Chris, from San Antonio, Texas, for an uneventful easy day, not much conversation (a nice guy, invited me to his house if ever thru there)) - he is stronger than I on the uphill (these days I am slow and do a lot of huffing and puffing on the uphills ..... old age I guess ), but not on the rest of the trail.
15h15 - We arrived at Denis Cove road (day's end) , Chris went to Kincora Hostel and tomorrow he'll move on. I hitched a ride to Braemar Castle Hostel in Hampton, TN - owned by Sutton and Bev Brown (his grandfather acquired it in 1920). I will stay here 2 nights, tomorrow I'll do an afternoon hike after my usual errands in the AM, and come back here.
Bev let me use her washer/dryer and Sutton shuttled me to the TH, nice people and good place for hikers, however Hampton is spread out and a lot of walking is required for your services, not the best of place for a restful stay. Feeling good
