Ascent Trip Report

While I was on top of Charleston Peak, I was looking at Mummy Mtn. and asked a fellow climber what mountain that was. He told me so I decided to climb it 2 days later. I checked on to get the details, and decided to do it from Trail Canyon TH as well. From the junction of Trail Canyon Trail and N. Charleston Loop, it said to go left past Cave Spring and climb the "obvious" scree field. Well I somehow missed that and ended up way beyond that, finally taking a short scramble up to the ridge, probably close to a 2 mile detour altogether. I then followed the ridge back towards Mummy and could easily see the obvious scree field route! From there there was a nice use trail all the way up, going up the wide crack to the left once you reach the base of Mummy. I was eating lunch at the register and thinking the other peak looked higher so went over there, 11' lower! I took the much faster and shorter scree field down, and then it was very obvious when I reached the main trail! After that I went on the N. Charleston Loop Trail to a bit past the Mummy Spring Trail, before returning and going down the Trail Canyon Trail. 3:07 up, 3:47 down, including time on top. A very nice day.
