Ascent Trip Report

I'm not sure why, but the main road was gated less than half a mile from the ranger station next to what appeared to be a new "trailhead" parking lot. This meant a 13 mile hike to the summit.

The road was in good shape (a passenger car could have handled it, had it been open), but long to walk.

On the way down, for the summit area, I tried the alternate road to the north, but gave up when it started going uphill (it has an extra 100+ feet of gain). I did a bit of cross-country and came out on the same road further down (see GPS).
