Ascent Trip ReportBlack Mountain is located in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee (not to be confused with the one in Kentucky). There is a parking lot atop the mountain, with a loop trail going around the summit. A benchmark is located off-trail in the woods just west of the fenced-in area. Spectacular sandstone caprocks and 180-degree views can be found on the east side of the mountain. The Cumberland passes near the summit of the mountain.
