Ascent Trip Report

The easiest bushwhack in the Eastern Smokies; I departed from the Appalachian Trail/Balsam Trail junction, and wound my way to the top. The bushwhack round trip took 30 minutes, from trail to summit and back. Previous peakbaggers had left a small pile of rocks at the summit. There is a break in the treeline immediately west of the summit that opens a minor view to the west.
