Ascent Trip Report

My source of information was Gene Daniell's excellent directions "Four THousand Footer Committee". I took Gene's advice and came up the north ridge, starting at the new logging road.
This climb completes the AMC New England Hundred Highest in NH, all of Main is still outstanding.

Rose dropped me off at the new logging road, on the south side of Haystack Road (#304) and 1.8 miles from Hwy #302, she went go Crawford Notch and picked me up later.

I followed the logging road southeast for a short distance then bushwacked southwest to the north ridge which I followed southerly to the summit of THE NUBBLE, with great views of Mount Washington. After a nice lunch break I continued the short distance to the summit of NUBBLE PEAK (ascended in 2.5 hours from the TH).

A moderate bushwack with some herd paths (which I lost from time to time). Very steep in places, a lot of huffing and puffing.
