Ascent Trip ReportMimi & I left Humber Park at 0830 and reached the stone hut at the top at 1430. Two other couples arrived with us: Don & Marie from the Aerial Tram, Photon & Nargles PCT thru-hikers heading North. It was a training hike for the JMT in June. I carried 30-bls and Mimi carried 20-lbs. The sun was setting when we arrived back at our car. Lots of snow fields to cross but no cramptons needed. Snow was soft causing our feet to punch through into mini-chasms caused by melting underneath. Mimi too two tumbles, but no injury. By the time I got to the top my socks were totally wet. Hiked down with wet feet, but thankfully no blisters. We had beer and pizza at Idyllwild Pizza Company, took baths, and went straight to bed. It was a long hard 11-hr hike...but worth every step! Another California County highpoint reached...!
