Ascent Trip Report

A trail/herd path hike ...... 17 miles, 9 hours RT.

We left home early for the drive to Lake Placid and the LOJ parking TH. Rose will go into town and later climb Mount JO while I'm away.

I left the TH at 7h40 hours for Marcy Dam/Avalanche Camp/Lake Arnold/Uphill Lean-to where I took a snack break, a beautiful warm day, met a number of hikers on the way.
12hoo hours I summitted REDFIELD, on the way I had a major slip/fall where I pulled my groin. I had to stay put for a good 15 minutes before I could resume. at the summit I took a long 1 hour break, enjoying the view to the south. I met/chatted with Larry Coble from Saratoga Springs plus 8 other people.
I signed the register, prior names ..... Sophie Delong, Aims Coney, Walter Harmon, Wes Stanhope, Craig Hollenbeck.

16h40 hours I was back to the TH after a 17 mile, 9 hour day. Rose was waiting.

We drove home stopping for dinner at Platsburg, NY.
Tomorrow is a big day for our first grandson Stephen, he will be Christened followed by a nice party (at Linda & Bob's) with the whole family from both sides.

"THERE IS NO PLACE ANYWHERE, NEAR THIS PLACE, LIKE THIS PLACE, SO THIS MUST BE THE PLACE."
