Ascent Trip Report

First day of a 3 day weekend hiking trip to the ADKs with Guy Hebert. We stayed at John Brook Lodge, 22$ per night (bunk with breakfast and dinner) plus 2$ for a trail lunch.

Guy picked me up and we first drove/went to the Keene Mountain Shop in Keene Valley before driving up to the Garden Parking. We walked half a mile down to the Rooster Comb TH and hiked/ascended the ridge southwesterly over Rooster Comb/Hedgehog/Lower Wolf Jaw then descended to the Wolf Jaw col before turning westerly (right) for John Brook Lodge ..... 7.5 miles in 5 hours.
Most of this trail is wooded with little views except on Rooster Comb and Lower Wolf Jaw.

The hut crew (3 girls and a guy) served fish/rice/peas with salad. Met/chatted with numerous guests, they had 2" of snow on the peaks last night, even though we didn't see any evidence of snow today.

At 20h30 hours Mark Gretch gave a slide presentation on "All Things Large and Small".
I had the bottom bunk as I went to bed under a star filled sky.
