Ascent Trip ReportTraverse of Hale, Zealand, Bonds with Heather (Kali), Jeff, Joe, Cynthia (and Bryan who met us at Zealand hut). Sketchy forecast (snow early, cloudy all day and high winds) which we decided to brave anyways - but turned out way better than forecast. Stopped snowing after sometime between Hale and the hut, and we had views all day (even though under cloudy skies). Winds were pretty good across Guyot - but we made it,and they died down a bit around the col between Bond and Bondcliff. 6"+ of fresh powder plus some pretty good drifting here and there that we broke out the whole way - but not too bad given the group we had - and made for nice descent from Bondcliff. Fast and fun group - few stops - finished the whole shebang in 12:15 even with winds and in snowshoes all day. Great company and really great day out. Also, HALE wrapped up the January grid for both Jeff and I! Woohoo!
