Ascent Trip ReportStarted in Ponce and took PR-10 up to where it intersects with PR-143. It's just over 16km from the intersection to the small gravel parking area/trailhead. (if you trust google maps) The "trail" is paved up the mountain because of all the towers and radio equipment. It would be possible to drive the up to the peak but it was very steep and wet. Great views from the top. On the way out we took PR-503 back to Ponce for some variety, it was worth it. Lots of views and a really nice bridge over a large ravine made for some interesting photo ops.
Side note: On the way in we stopped at a small Cafe on the north side of the road (Lydia's Cafe) to grab a coffee. 75 cents and an amazing view off the back seating area. The coffee was pretty good too. On the way out we stopped at a small place to get a bite to eat. (Pa'l Kampo Restaurant) Pretty good food and they were more than happy to help us out with our broken Spanish.
