Ascent of Konahuanui on 2013-01-08| Date: | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Konahuanui | | Location: | USA-Hawaii | | Elevation: | 3150 ft / 960 m |
Ascent Trip ReportThis was a tough one due to rain, wind and deep mud suck-holes especially on the upper ridges. There is a trail all the way but it's steep and slippery in many places and much of it is covered in roots, rocks and mud. The very steepest parts have ropes or nylon straps to assist.
In good weather, this would be a hike with some spectacular views - but not today!
