Ascent Trip ReportAgree with other reports, finding the TH in this confusing subdivision is the challenge. Parked at intersection with Alex Mountain Road and Wild Bird Lane (there is a gravel pull out) this avoids being in the way of the nice private homes in the area. Hiked up the grassy utility easement to avoid the public road until it deadends into a very steep paved maintenance road to the water tank and the radio tower. This is steep for ashpalt. At the top there are decent views. There is another trail that hops over a few knobs and ends up at another water tower on the other end. Somewhere along the way is the true HP.
Stopped at the Mountain Junction Store off of NC SR 106. This is neat country store to check in and get some refreshments. Then off to NC to bag some 6k peaks.
