Ascent Trip Report

Last 4k of the 48. My brother and I started the hike around 0545. Lincoln Woods trail up to the Black Pond trail, bushwhacked north from the pond to the Lincoln Brook Trail. The path up the the peak was steep and snow covered but we summited around 1300. On the way out we glissaded as much as we could and saved quite a bit of time.

We were worried about bushwhacking our way out toward Black Pond, we didn't want to lose daylight off the trail. In retrospect it probably would have been prudent to do so, with so many river crossings as the alternative I think we wasted more time and brought in the risk of falling in freezing water miles help.

Made it back to the Lincoln Woods parking area around 1800. Quite a day, happy to be done the 4000 footers.
