Ascent Trip Report

I did the trip with Zara Tours: 7 days 6 nights (Machame Route), summitting on the 5th night. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. FYI: The trail is just a long walk on a well-maintained trail. Barranco Wall is the toughest part and it's just 2 hours of Class 2 at most (the exposure is quite minimal--I'm deathly acrophobic and had no problems whatsoever--and you'd have to try really hard to hurt yourself). The hardest part is actually struggling on the scree on summit night: nothing technical or dangerous, just quite a work out.
