Ascent Trip Report

The classic Kentmere Horseshoe, including 8 'Wainwrights', done in perfect winter conditions! I can see why it is listed as one of AW's 18 favourite Lakeland routes.

A great family day out for all 6 of us with clear blue skies, negligible wind, firm snow beneath ones feet above 600-650 metres and extensive views in all directions. Parked in Green Quarter rather than Kentmere because of lack of parking spaces and returned just after dark. All-in-all about 13 miles or 21 km, not a bad trip for young (and old) legs.
