Ascent Trip Report

An easy grass field walk ..... .5 mile RT.

From the junction of Rooks Road/Sweden Hill Road (SR1001), about 4 miles southwest of Brookland, we drove north on Rooks Road for 2.8 miles to its junction with Kidney Road. A tall Communication Tower is 300 yards west of this road junction amid a huge/open grass field.
A pipe line crosses Rooks Road 400 Yards west of the junction, I walked it 300 yards west then came back on the high ground towards the road junction.
Not much of a hill, difficult to pick "the" HP, the area close to the road junction is probably the high ground, I chose a spot 100 yards west of the junction and 15 yards south on Rooks Road (somewhat obvious), GPS 41.84723,-77.83328.

We drove northeast on Rooks to Hwy #449 to check out the sign at the corner, referred-to by Michael Schwartz in his TR, its worth the visit. It reads:
The only TRIPLE DIVIDE east of the Mississippi. This summit gives rise to three major rivers: ALLEGHENY RIVER flows into the Ohio, Mississippi & Gulf of Mexico, GENESEE RIVER flows north into Lake Ontario, St Lawrence River and North Atlantic Ocean, PINE CREEK-SUSQUEHANNA flows into the Chesapeake Bay & Atlantic Ocean. US Geological Survey Elevation about 2480 feet.

This peak completes my list "Northeast USA Triple Divide Points"
