Ascent Trip ReportStarted hike about 0844 hr from Hot Springs Mountain Rd after parking car at approximately 5,680' level. Weather cool, windy, and cloudy with rain showers previous night. Approached lookout tower at around 1010 hr and summitted the county high point boulder at about 1020 hrs without incident. Scramble up boulders was easier than described - hardest part was finding the bloody place amongst the tangle of thickets. Back at car around 1205 hours with beautiful and clear weather finally setting in. Great views of Palomar Mt on way down and even got a glimpse of Salton Sea from summit between cloud breaks.
