Ascent Trip Report

Just south of I-70 I turned left off of rt.51 onto Finley Rd. and then right over the expressway in a couple of miles onto Indian Hill Rd. Like many other hills in this area not so far from Pittsburgh, much of it is surrounded by homes. I parked at an energy co. access gate wsw of the peak just before a power line access path. I headed up the access rd. to a spot about 500 feet sw of the peak and then bushwhacked uphill on a GPS heading. Much of the bushwhack went through thick clumps of thorn bushes. I find that to be the case on many Pa. hills, turning what would other wise be trivial ascents into occasional minor ordeals. Not much in nice views to compensate on this one.
