Ascent Trip ReportStayed overnight at the Highland House lodge. Got there with Ann, Shannon, Tom and Nora at about midnight. Woke at 6:30 to take in the buffet. Tom and Shannon played at the playground area a bit before we set out to the Willey house in the truck. We started up at 9:15am along the Kendron Falls trail. Met the Ethan Pond trail and followed that to Willey Ridge. Everyone loved the ladders, though the steps were covered with 1/4" of snow and ice. With a little encouraging, Tom took the steps safely. He did a "Wow" stop for a view up the ladders. Shannon carried the backpack up. At the Willey Summit, we settled on the west side beyond the Cairn for lunch. Tom and Shannon fed the Gray Jays from their hands. After lunch we set out towards the field Summit via the Willey Ridge trail.
