Ascent Trip ReportHike from Middle Tripyramid to South Tripyramid was moderate. No view from the south peak.
We remained on the Mt Tripyramid Trail and descended the south slide. Great view from the top of the slide. The slide is gravel and loose rock. Just under the slide the trail continues at a slow decent meandering through a forest. At the trail intersection we got back on the Livermore Trail and continued to the campsite.
The loop took us roughly six hours and was 6.7 miles. The conditions were wet, starting with rain with freezing rain and snow in the higher elevations. The trail was wet and slick with the exception of the south slide which was sun baked by the time we got there.
On day 3 we hiked north on the Livermore Trail, north on the Mt Tripyramid trail to the Scaur Ridge Trail to the Pine Bend Brook Trail out to Rt 112 and the trailhead. The hike out was roughly 5 miles on a clear and sunny day and took us roughly 3 hours. Trail conditions were still wet.
Temps sunk to the high teens. Blackbird with Rag Mtn UQ and Sierra Designs Makalu for TQ worked great for this temp range. Plenty warm and comfortable.
