Ascent Trip ReportJust the standard out-and-back to Waumbek on the Starr King Trail. This trail is somewhat unusual for the White Mountains in that there are no difficult parts. It's just a gradual incline up to Mt. Starr King, and then a dip into a shallow col before rising a little higher to Waumbek.
Today there was light rain, which turned to snow at higher elevations. The snow was sticking to the trees, and so I got to enjoy fall colors early on in the hike, followed by a winter-like scene higher up.
