Ascent Trip ReportA day with Dick, Lenny and Nancy. The day started at 5:30 when Dick picked me up to meet Lenny and Nancy at LLBean in Concord.
The weather was cloudy and no rain until our decent.
Didn't meet a lot of hikers on the way up but met quite a bit on our way down, even a couple with a young child just starting their ascent as we were almost back down in the pouring rain.
We parked on the 116 side of the mountains and took the Kinsman trail hitting North first. Not much of a peak here. We stayed a few minutes and headed South. Came to maybe the fake peak and heard from a few others a better place was just further down the trail. We headed over and found a large cairn so we sat and had lunch.
We ended up meeting someone that recognized Lenny from over 10 years ago who use to help out at the Moore center while at Huttig.
Nancy got two more peaks for her grid, and Dick found a way to get Nancy moving faster. LOL
Even though we got back to car very wet, it was a very enjoyable day.
After dropping off Lenny and Nancy, Dick and I went to his house where Mary and Nancy had supper ready. Sauerbraten
Then the hot tub which felt good on these old muscles.
