Ascent Trip Report

Started out at 8:30. It was cold enough that we needed heat in the car on the way up, but once we started moving we shed our jackets and hiked in t-shirts. The first stretch of the hike was the hardest bit. From the parking area to the top of Marble mountain it's mostly straight up over a lot of rocks. The fallen leaves didn't make foot placement easy, either. After Marble mountain it was pretty easy-going. Decided not to do Ester because of time constraints. Stopped to check out the views from the ski trails for a bit. But even with a couple of short breaks we still made it to the top by our ETA of 11:30. It was freezing on the summit and there were a lot of people who'd drove up, so we didn't stay long. To make it easier on my knees, we decided to take the Memorial Highway down. I think it was a little bit longer but much easier going. Also got to read all the fun facts as we walked. :>

Probably the easiest (and quickest) high peak that I've hiked so far.
