Ascent of Troy Peak on 2012-09-23
|Date:||Sunday, September 23, 2012|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||11298 ft / 3443 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe road to Troy Peak's trailhead must have seen a heckofa washout around Labor Day when the enormous storms rolled through the area. We parked our hc 4wd's 3 1/2 miles from the t/h. Not deterred, we climbed the peak from there, adding 7 miles to the round trip. On this trip I completed the Las Vegas Mountaineers Classic Peak list. 50 peaks and what a walk down memory lane to remember back to all the people that I summitted with over the last few years. On this day, our strong summit team was Susan Murphy, Jeff Casey, Anji Cerney, Collin Kamholz, BSM914, Eric Kassan and Joel Brewster. Joel brought champagne for the traditional toast at the summit and Jeff may have started a new tradition with caviar and strawberries. All in all 10 1/2 hour day, with the additional 1200' and 7 miles, which added 3 1/2 hours. Thanks everyone!
