Ascent Trip ReportGrandfather Mountain was one of those "drive up" mountains, located just north of Linville, North Carolina. Besides, it was a bit too cold for hiking that day (not to mention that I had no hiking gear). There is a mile high swinging bridge on the summit, from which people can get a grand view of the Blue Ridge Range. The only issue that day was the subzero wind chills. At least there was no snow to worry about.
