Ascent Trip ReportDrive up Big Timber canyon to Half Moon trailhead. Backpack into Blue Lake and camped there for the night. This provided for an early start for the mountain. Climb from the south side of Blue lake up the side of the west ridge. This is the major part of the climb. Once on the crest of the west ridge, its just a ridge walk to the east towards the summit. At the east end of this ridge is the false summit, then I scoped out an appropriate chute and descended to and crossed a short notch between the true and false summits. Then I scrambed up to the true summit. To descend, I crossed back thru the notch and up the chute. Then I decided to descend a gully on the north-northeast side. This then necessitated a traverse across the base of a rocky rib, then thru a very lush meadow area back to Blue Lake.
