Ascent Trip Report

I took a hike over to Mount Craig to get an overlook since the summit of Mount Mitchell was closed due to construction of a new observation deck. The Deep Gap Trail was under some maintenance during the time of my hike, so there was some tricky spots along the way. Once I got to the top of Mount Craig, the view was great. From there, I continued on to nearby Big Tom before heading back to Mount Mitchell. Unfortunately, there are no looks from the summit there. Overall, a pretty nice hike.
