Ascent Trip Report

Made the mistake of trying to traverse along the side of North Tent but got to some bad steep scree above a cliff band, so descended down to a ditch filled with water and followed that to a meadow at the base of South Tent. I found a faint trail up a bit, then had to bushwhack through some thorny shrubs to a relatively clear gully which can be followed up to the saddle between North and South Tents. From there its pretty easy and clear up to the top. Would probably be a really great spring/fall hike, but it was pretty hot and humid this time.

Skyline drive is in pretty rough shape for awhile (kind of like skiing moguls) and deeply rutted in areas, but probably only needs high clearance when dry. The road is really slick in the wet spots though.
