Ascent Trip Report

On day one, our group backpacked from Whitney Portal up the trail to the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek, then followed an occasional use trail up to upper Boy Scout Lake, where we made camp. The next day, we made our way down to Clyde Meadow, then ascended the slope up to the plateau located south of Mount Carillon. Once on the plateau, we climbed up to the Russell-Carillon Col, then climbed the peak's third class East Arête route to the summit. Afterwards, we returned to our camp at Upper Boy Scout Lake. On the third day, we backpacked out to the vehicle.
