Mont Lachat , 2023m, P1064m

Stats: 1020mH, 8km

Time: 1 Sep 06, ascent 2h, descent 1:05.

Start: from E, car park by farm at road end, Forgeassoud, 2km W of St-Jean-de-Sixt

Route: Mapped signposted paintmarked route to summit.

Difficulties: a few steep passages with minor scrambling

Trig point: 15cm block with IGN inscribed on side and X on top face.

Notes: Scenic ascent, fine narrow crest, great views. Crested tits heard on lower slopes; Alpine Choughs perched skirmishing near summit (I had forgotten food so they were out of luck, as was I). Cross dated 1983. Table d’Orientation (1984) is fairly limited, misses some prominent peak, and apparently has errors, e.g. Aiguille Verte in the wrong place (i.e. left of Pointe Percee). A few walking parties met.
