Ascent Trip Report

This was a five day backpack to climb peaks located in the vicinity of Muir Pass. On day one, Rick and I backpacked from South Lake over Bishop Pass to Le Conte Canyon and then up to Helen Lake. On day two, we day hiked Black Giant from Helen Lake. On day three, Rick and I did a long day hike to Mount Goddard by going over Muir Pass and then down to Wanda Lake, then south to Wanda Pass, then traversed along the Goddard Crest to the east slope of Mount Goddard, which we followed to the top. On day four, we day hiked Mount Fiske from Helen Lake and, on day five, we backpacked out to the vehicle over Bishop Pass to South Lake.
