Ascent Trip Report

On day one, Rick, Al and I backpacked from the Big Pine Creek Trailhead to Sam Mack Meadow, where we set up camp. On day two, we day hiked up to Sam Mack Lake, then continued up across snowfields and moraines to the base of the peak's east arête. Next, we climbed up a chute to some white rock, then traversed left and crossed into another chute. From there, we climbed up several hundred feet of easy class 3 to the summit. Later, we retraced our route back to Sam Mack Meadow. On the day three, we backpacked out to the car.
