Ascent of Monroe Peak on 2012-08-18| Others in Party: | BMS 914 Tim Newman
| | Date: | Saturday, August 18, 2012 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Monroe Peak | | Location: | USA-Utah | | Elevation: | 11227 ft / 3421 m |
Ascent Trip ReportMonroe Peak has a decent road (passenger cars could make it if driven carefully) all the way to the summit, so you can pick how much hiking you would like to do. Unfortunately, the road is not very steep, so to get a little over 2,000 feet of vertical gain we had to hike about 15 miles!
Going cross-country looked very unpleasant with considerable thick brush.
