Ascent Trip ReportSo, the road alluded to in the report from Mike Schwartz (FR 238C) is now gated for motorized travel, but says that foot travel is welcome. No problem. I quickly made my way down the road 1.2 miles to just before a very overgrown gate on the left. From here, I cut straight up the hill to the ridgeline. This was the worst bushwhacking of the entire trip, but only lasted a few minutes. I would consider that pretty good for east coast highpointing in August. When I arrived at the ridge, I was faced with a dilemma - look for the property boundary up to my left or down to my right. As luck would have it, I took 2 steps to the right and nearly tripped over the cairn and sign. The metal pole that previously held the forest service sign has fallen over but the sign is propped up against the cairn. I took a few pictures and still decided to head a few hundred feet in each direction just to ensure that I really got the HP as the map indicates a small gap between the forest boundary and city boundary. I went down first and then up so that I would be headed in the correct direction to cut back down to the road. I then made a quick retreat along FR 238C to my car.
