Ascent Trip ReportAfter hiking to Shepherd's Pass (and ascending Tyndall) the previous day, our full group set out for Williamson a little after 6:00AM. Up a slope, then into the Williamson Bowl, with lots of boulder hopping.
From there, it was up a talus ramp, which disappeared behind a gendarme. The ramp led to a chute, which turned into a chimney. Easy and fun Class 3 climbing here with mild exposure. Most of our party had helmets due to reports of rockfall, but it was not an issue for us - Collin and I had only caps on. Anji apparently got hit with a small stone in the helmet but was unharmed (I heard about it later, but did not see what happened).
The climb ends on the summit plateau, and some more boulder hop type climbing and the summit is right there. Spectacular views all around! Descent was by the same route, and was not difficult. Collin and I broke camp at the pass and went all the way back to the trailhead, so the stats include that, but not the time taken to pack up.
