Ascent Trip Report

I took FR 1950 to FR1910 and then right on (unmarked) FR1913. FR1913 is not as bad as some, but you'll probably want high clearance and 4WD. At 5.4 mi. down 1913 I turned into an abandoned logging track. I drove in 0.5 mi. plowing through numerous 18 inch pine trees in the middle of the road. Don't try this without a suitable vehicle.

From there I walked farther up the road for about 1000 feet and then bushwhacked on a GPS heading. At first that involved steeple chasing over numerous downed trees, but they thinned out considerably as I approached the ridgeline about a third of a mile from the hp coordinates. Quite a bit of tree cover, but lots of views on both sides of the ridgeline.

On the return I traversed the knob sw of the peak, an unranked 11er only about 30 feet lower than the peak.
