Ascent Trip ReportStarted at parking lot at elevation 40. Hiked to lighthouse and checked it out. Then found the 0.9 mile loop called the Coast Guard High Point trail that rolls up and down through a mossy roller coaster tour of the east and north heads of the peninsula. Probably acheives no higher than 80 to 90 feet above the sea and the observation deck is very nice. We saw a seal or sealion out in the rocks surface for air!
Back to the parking lot and down the coastal trail and down to touch the water at low tide (-10 feet). Then hiked for hours along the shorline trail up and down and out to the various formations and rock features (Heads) and tide pools - and explored the many trails in around the park.
Did not go for the actual HP of park since it was not close enough to a trail and was concerned with causing erosion in the fragile mossy environment - I did not want to harm this environment.
I did climb to the highest elevations afforded by the trails in the park.
